"Stories for Stickers: A Postcard Campaign"
Just under a year ago, we opened up the doors of Uphill Running in Issaquah, Washington. Beneath a bright bluebird sky we were eager to meet our community. We realized, however, that our community isn’t just confined to the City of Issaquah. Anyone that runs, that’s beginning to run, or has family or friends that run is part of our community and we wanted to meet y’all, too.
Working with our friends in Georgetown, Washington (Diecutstickers.com) we got our the Uphill Running logo beautifully printed on some fancy sticker paper. (They can tell you more about than we can, check ‘em out.) The Uphill Running sticker was made to stand out proudly on that prime real estate of water bottles, car windows, and even on some beer kegs (thanks, Fortune Brewing!)
One day we had a few folks from Georgia eagerly asking how they could get their hands on an Uphill Running sticker. Instead of just dropping it in a white envelope, we thought it’d be nice to meet them and learn their stories, so that’s how “Stories for Stickers: A Postcard Campaign” began.
We’ve been receiving postcards, now, for quite some time and next week we’ll begin sharing them with you via our blog, or you can stop in the shop and peruse the many, many wonderful people in our community, and in your community.
We have postcard stories from as far away as New Zealand and as close as Redmond, WA. Some folks made their postcards, some folks bought their postcards, but everyone included a story…unfortunately, some folks didn’t include a return address, so please remember to include yours.
Send us a story about you. It can be about running, or not. It can be funny, or heartfelt. Just make it about you. After all, this is sort of a paper handshake. Make it personal. Tell your friends about it, and look for your stories to be featured on our blog starting next week.
Nice to meet you,
Uphill Running.
